Authorization to Exceed Original Cap ...

SAMPLE

Authorization to Exceed Original Cap Amount
In Accordance with: "North Carolina Motor Vehicle Repair Act." (1999‑437, s. 1.)

I hereby authorize Race Club Body Shop to exceed the original cap amount of $_________ on my original agreement.  In exchange for exceeding this cap; Race Club Body Shop agrees to discount the overages (not required by law) by 15% in addition to any other discounts already agreed and will be documented in your invoices.

We make every effort to allow for all the contingencies possible on a project but there are just to many variables to consider.  Some shops charge for these automatically and keep the extra money (monies not actually needed for the project, we consider this to be fraud) or short cut and deliver a lower quality product, we choose to only charge for the labor required, saving you money by not making you pay for labor not used.  Therefor we request your permission to charge more then the original cap set.

Setting a new cap with the discounted labor, in the amount of $ _________, shows our good faith in targeting the original budget and the fact we always strive to target right the first time.  We will take a loss on overages but are able to cover our costs and minimize those losses.

We do appreciate your understanding on this and above all want to satisfy you as a customer with a quality product that will last a lifetime.

Common reasons for overages:  Items requested by the customer after work has begun or not listed in the original budget amount, hidden damages during a repair or supplier price increases for parts, materials or supplies.  Complications resulting from custom work.
